Emerging Technology Forum: Polymer Applications in Medical Devices
Join RAPRA North America and PolymerOhio on Friday, October 10, 2008 for an Emerging Technology Forum: Polymer Applications in Medical Devices. This ETF will address the challenges, advances, and commercialization of polymers in the quickly growing medical device market. Featured speakers will represent Battelle, Future Path Medical, LLC, and Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center (GCIC). A panel of medical device companies receiving commercialization help from GCIC promises to provide a lively discussion of issues and strategies for market success.
This ETF will be held in the Clinton Room at the Fawcett Center on The Ohio State University campus, 2400 Olentangy River Road. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; the program runs from 9:00 until 3:00 p.m.

(09/10/09) Governor Ted Strickland and Lt. Governor Lee Fisher recently unveiled the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) Strategic Plan for Economic Development. This bold, new plan seeks to redesign the state’s business climate and increase the global competitiveness of Ohio’s employers. (09/07/08) About a year ago, Zyvex Performance Materials, Inc. relocated from Dallas, Texas to Columbus, Ohio. Zyvex needed not only a facility from which to operate, but also the supply chain to support their carbon nanotube (CNT) business. Working with PolymerOhio and the Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials and Devices (CMPND), Zyvex moved through their entire business integration process, found a suitable facility, relocated into the Columbus area, began applying for Ohio Department of Development funding, and received sound advice on scaling up one of their key components for their high performance products: Arovex, Epovex and Engineered Solutions. ....Read more
