Welcome to Ohio Polymer and Advanced Materials Internship Program

The PolymerOhio Internship Program pays half the intern's wages up to a total of $3,000 per intern!

The goal of this Program, a part of the Third Frontier Internship Program, is to retain graduates who are Ohio residents in Ohio jobs.  Students get valuable "real world" training and the companies "audition" the students for future employment.  Click here for some success stories.

Interns are also providing valuable technical asistance to their employers.  Click here to see the Ohio Third Frontier Internship Program brochure.

During the past three years over 300 students have worked in internships through PolymerOhio's Internship Grant from the State.  The Program is now in its fourth year and will be available through at least May 2010 for full- and part-time internships.

PolymerOhio was renewed as a grantee for FY 2009 and FY 2010 under the Third Frontier Internship Program with nearly $400,000 over the next two years.  This will fund reimbursements for at least 126 interns!
This program is intended for math, science and engineering majors who are either Ohio residents or U.S. citizens that are students at accredited Ohio colleges and universities. Major differences in the Program this year are:
• Expanded eligibility for students
o Any student from second year through graduate students at an accredited Ohio college or university
o Any Ohio resident attending an accredited out-of-state school
• GPA of 2.5 required for all interns
• Transcript required to verify student’s standing and GPA
• Written contract between company and grantee

Registration:  The PolymerOhio Internship Program is administered through a web site that provides access to students and companies from all over the state.  The web site is designed to minimize paper work and make the indentificiation and hiring of interns quick and simple.
